Sensational director Shankar is one Indian director who has sound knowledge on technology. He keeps himself updated and he can be called as the first director who introduced VFX to South Indian cinema. Indian films have been digitally converted into 3D and IMAX Format. Shankar is all set for his next movie 2.0 which marks the sequel for his super hit film Robo. The movie will be released in 3D during Diwali this year.
The latest update is that the film will release in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D and IMAX Real 3D Formats. It has been heard that Shankar hired a special camera with which several Hollywood films have been shot. The film’s sound designer Resul Pookutty is in plans to introduce a new sound with 2.0 which would be more effective than Dolby Atmos. The makers are in talks with the distributors and exhibitors across South India to upgrade the sound systems and the screens.
Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar are the lead actors in 2.0 which is being made on a budget of Rs 350 crores. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project and AR Rahman is composing the music.
