Ahead of the arrival of Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagara Rao to Chennai admits the political uncertainty prevailed in the state since last four days, Tamil Nadu caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has suddenly turned aggressive since last night and started giving rude shocks to AIADMK’s General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan.
At a time she is preparing to meet the Governor parading her support of over 130 MLAs, as many as 45 MLAs are said to be deserted from her camp since last night, indicating their support of Panneerselvam.
This makes Panneerselvam assertive and declared that he is ready for a show of strength of his support base at an `appropriate time’.
Caretaker Chief Minister Panneerselvam appears to be in no mood of conceding ground to Sasikala. Today he issued executive orders to convert former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s residence at Poes Garden into an “Amma Memorial”, thus makes Sasikala homeless as she is now residing there with all her family members. Panneerselvam via his official Twitter handle tweeted the same. “Hon CM to issue orders to make Poes Garden residence as Amma’s memorial.”
He is also reportedly finalising plans to remove top cops by the end of the day including DGP Rajendran and Chennai Police commissioner P Thamaraikannan. All his decisions as caretaker Chief Minister can be overturned, subject to a change in the leadership after much anticipated assembly floor test.
For the first time since the starting of present political crisis, he convened a meeting with state Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and DJP Rajendran, issuing several crucial administrative orders.
He has also challenged Sasikala’s order removing him as AIADMK treasurer and announced that he was appointed by Jayalalithaa and an interim general secretary is not authorised to change him. He also written letters to banks cautioning them not to allow withdraw of funds from party accounts, without his signature.
