Popular production house PVP Cinema who has been investing huge on unique and sensible films came up with Ghazi which marks the first submarine drama in the history of Indian cinema. Sankalp made his debut as director and the movie features Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, Taapsee Pannu in crucial roles. The film released in February and ended up as a massive hit all over. It raked huge figures across the multiplexes.
The film has been made on a budget of Rs 21 crores (Rs 15 crores for making and Rs 6 crores for publicity). Released in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages, Ghazi collected a theatrical share of Rs 34 crores (Telugu: Rs 12 crores, Tamil: Rs 19 crores and Tamil: Rs 3 crores). The movie minted Rs 3.62 crores across the International circles and the digital rights of the film have been acquired by Amazon for Rs 10.5 crores. The makers are yet to sell the satellite rights of the film and the talks are on. With over Rs 10 crore satellite deal for all the three languages, the makers of Ghazi pocketed Rs 58.12 crores already which is huge.
