In a career spanning over three decades with more than 150 films, matineee idol Megastar Chiranjeevi played many entertaining and emotional characters leaving him with very little to yearn for as an actor. Yes, he has the desire to play the role of Bhagat Singh on screen.
During his conversation with a contestant in the popular game show MEK, the Khaidi No 150 actor revealed his long time ambition of reprising the role of the great revolutionary Bhagat Singh. He said, ‘ I wanted to play Bhagat Singh, but things didn’t fall in place. Time and again, the film was made in many languages by many actors. I always regretted not doing such a patriotic and intense character in my career ‘.
But, Chiranjeevi is very happy to be playing a similar character in his upcoming film which traces the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, one of the unsung freedom fighters of India, whose story is not explored by any filmmaker till date.
Surender Reddy will wield the megaphone for this biopic which will be produced by Ram Charan. The regular shooting will commence in June.
