Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao alleged the involvement of few police officials’ in the drug menace on Saturday. He held that the police officials are either addicts or acting in favour of drug peddlers.
Rao purported that some officials are involved in transporting drugs. Corrective action against three inspector range officers in East Godavari, West Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts for alleged involvement in transporting drugs has commenced. The DGP held that everyone will be nabbed and none will be spared.
Speaking about the Hyderabad Drug raids, Rao said that it only exposes how deep the drug racket runs and a generation of youngsters is likely to be washed out due to the menace.
An anti-drug task force under the directions of Chief Minister is in place, with the Police department working along with the excise department.
On the other hand, Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Saturday said they lodged a complaint with the intelligence wing regarding the threats call to Enforcement director Akun Sabhrawal. TS DGP said is needed the security of Sabharwal will be beefed up and hoped to get some clues in next two to three days.
