The construction works for KIA Motors factory at Penukonda in Anantapur is gaining pace, farmers, who gave away their lands are buoyant about their kin can secure employment. Even the local youth are hoping to secure employment at the Kia factory being setup with an investment of Rs 13500cr.
APIIC acquired 599 acres of which 535 have been handed over to the company which will be providing employment to about 40000 people. The remaining land will be used to construct roads and other amenities.
KIA representatives told The Hans India, that the construction work will start by October-end after L&T completes land development at cost of Rs 174 crore. The trial run of the unit would be in March 2018 and production starts from September 2019.
