1 V.V.Vinayak
V.V.Vinayak is one of the best mass commercial director Telugu film industry is proud off. He has worked with almost all the top stars heroes to young upcoming heroes from the industry. Vinayak was the top contender for launching star kids as he elevates his heroes to larger than life giving them much needed mass hero image. But things did not work out as expected for both the movies Alludu Seenu and Akhil at the box office both commercially as well as critically. During this low phase megastar Chiranjeevi’s reentry, 150th movie responsibility was given to V.V.Vinayak. We are aware of the sensation Khaidi No 150 has generated and it collected 100 crores plus at the box office. 2 Mahi V Raghav
Mahi V Raghav is a new age director who made his debut as a producer in the film industry to understand the working style of TFI. Mahi made his directional debut with a road film Paathshala, it’s one of the rare genres being attempted and common audiences are aware off. As expected Paathshala was not a fruitful experience for the director. Then Mahi went back to Newzealand, worked on a unique script where he reversed the horror comedy genre where ghost gets scared by the humans. This unique concept was liked by everyone that brought star comedians Srinivas Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Thagubothu Ramesh, Shakalaka Shankar and Taapsee Pannu as cast for Anando Brahma. From morning shows itself Anando Brahma mesmerized audiences with its impressive concept and entertainment, the positive talk went viral making it a commercial hit at box office. With Anando Brahma, Mahi V Raghav bounced back into hit directors category of 2017 with enquires from top production houses in the industry.
3 Teja
Teja holds a special record of scoring hat trick hit at the box office that only countable directors got credited for their talent. Things started falling flat when Teja started working with star heroes, he was quick to realize the mistake but his non-star movies also tanked miserably. In between Teja had a personal loss, his son passed away and it broke him down emotionally to a large extent. Teja fought back with movies like Hora Hori, Veyyi Abhadalu but audiences rejected them. Then Teja prepared Nene Raju Nene Mantri and approached Rajasekhar to play the main lead. Things did not work out between the director, hero and finally, Rana got cast with Suresh Productions bankrolling the project. Movie buffs got to sense the old Teja in Nene Raju Nene Mantri and made the film a super hit bringing the director back to the limelight.
4 Shekar Kammula
Shekar Kammula is also one of the directors who went to film schools and learned every craft of filmmaking before stepping into the movie industry. Shekar started off with back to back hits making his own brand and dealing with subjects that close to his heart. He got sidetracked repeating similar content of his previous films in Life Is Beautiful and also doing Anaamika a remake that had a sensitive point. Both the films backfired for Shekar then he took his sweet time to write Fidaa, love story between a Telangana girl and NRI boy. Everyone who watched Fidda got fidaa over the movie and it put back Shekar Kammula name back on the radar in top director list.
