Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday flayed on TRS government and described Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy as ‘Chemcha’ and Telangana Chief Minister KCR as ‘Macchar Pahilwan’.
Speaking at a press conference, Revanth said that the government was playing gimmicks with power sector. “Though there is no need of additional power with surplus generation, the government spending Rs. 957.45 crore on power to benefit private power companies. The initiations took up by UPA government are leading to surplus power supply in Telangana,” he said.
Revanth questioned the government “while neighbouring states are offering power at low cost, why the government is encouraging private power companies which are providing power supply at high charges? ,The government’s steps are leading to discourage public sector power generation companies. There is a big scam/conspiracy behind 24 hour power supply. Government should announce who is the responsible behind the payment releases of Rs. 957.45 crore for private electricity companies for not purchasing single unit of power”.
