The Telangana State Government announced that it would issue āHealth Cardsā to more than 30 lakh students after carrying out health checkups. TS Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari chaired a meeting, which saw Health Minister Lakshma Reddy and other officials.
After the completion of the meeting, the Deputy CM and Health Minister announced that health checkups in all government schools will start from July 2018, and will be completed in 6 months.
āUpon the completion of the health checkups, the students will be given Health Cards. The officials will be soon given directives over this. This program will be carried out in all the government schools, Zilla Parishath, and Aided Schools in the state. The respective schools will be informed the dates on which health checks beforehand.
Similarly, Health and Hygiene kits will be provided to 8 lakh girls studying in KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya), Model Schools, Government Schools, District Zilla Parishath Schools, SC, ST, BC, Minority and Gurukul Schools.
Awareness programs will be carried out by trained women professionals for girls aged between 7 years and studying till 10 grade. The awareness programs will be on health and hygiene, puberty and other changes girls undergo during their teenageā, said the Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari and Health Minister Lakshma Reddy.
