Superstar Rajinikanth’s next big outing 2.0 has been delayed several times and the film’s director Shankar will announce the release date officially once he approves the VFX work. The makers are keen on releasing 2.0 either on Independence Day or Diwali weekend this year. Aamir Khan’s next film Thugs of Hindostan has already been announced for Diwali release.
When the makers first approached Aamir Khan to discuss about the possibility of both the films clashing at box-office, Aamir refused to hold the talks. It was Rajinikanth’s call that resumed the talks and Lyca Productions, Yash Raj Films are currently discussing about the release dates. If 2.0 misses the Independence Day weekend, the next big season would be Diwali. Hence Lyca is keen on locking the release date at the earliest.
Aamir Khan is said to be unhappy with the delay of 2.0 as the film will sure make a huge impact if clashed with his film Thugs of Hindostan.
