After a gap of two weeks since YSR Congress has revived its agitational program in the state. The party will organize a dharna at all MRO offices in the state on November 2 in protest against the indifference of TDP Government towards spiraling prices of essential commodities and its failure in assuring farmers to provide water for the crop, which is drying up even in Krishna delta. YSRCP took a break for its dharnas since the day police foiled the indefinite fast of Jagan on October 14.
‘Backed by various sections of people who are bearing the brunt, we will organize a dharna and submit a memorandum to the MROs across the state highlighting the failure of the government in checking the hike in price rise,’ party leader Ummareddy Venkaeswarlu announced on Friday.
The prices of essential commodities have spiraled abnormally and the state failed to take any steps to contain them, he said after attending a meeting chaired by party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Party leaders will also tour the delta region soon which is drying up due to lack of water, he said.
The issue of land acquisition has also come up in the meeting and the threats being carried out by the government and police to the farmers who are not willing to part with their land, Jyothula Nehru who also attended the meeting told at a separate press conference and demanded that Chandrababu Naidu should spell out his stand on special status.
