After Bollywood super hits like Dangal, Secret Superstar and Bhajarangi Bhaijaan stormed the Chinese box office, the massive release of India’s biggest blockbuster Baahubali 2 has garnered huge attention from international trade circles.
Living to its trade hype, Baahubali 2 opened across 7000 screens and took a strong start with good numbers on its opening day. But, the poor word of mouth has impacted the film’s run over the first weekend ( Sat : $ 2.94M) as the collections hardly improved compared to the first day’s $ 2.43M haul.
Despite taking the third biggest opening for Indian films in China, Baahubali 2 might fail to create any wonders in its full run as trade circles are reckoning a below par numbers from here on.
Baahubali 2 has surpassed the life time run of its first part in the franchise on its first day itself, but it is very difficult for the film to catch up with other Bollywood hits which had a solid run at the Chinese box office.
