It is well known that the makers of Keerthi Suresh’s Mahanati have tried their best to convince NTR Jr. to portray the role of his grandfather NTR. But he has rejected the offer despite repeated requests from producer Aswini Dutt.
During the audio launch event, NTR revealed that he not eligible to reprise his grandfather’s role and quoted this as the reason behind his rejection.
But, sources say there is other reason behind NTR turning down the proposal of Mahanati makers.
NTR always used to imitate his grandfather in many of his movies in the initial days of career. So, he would definitely love to step into the shoes of his grandfather in this historical film. But, long back Balakrishna expressed unhappiness about NTR doing his father’s roles.
Even though they are not in good terms, NTR doesn’t want to make the relations worse with Balakrishna and his family. So, he didn’t bow to the requests of Aswini Dutt and his daughters even though he maintains good rapport with them.
Instead, he promised to promote the film in whatever way possible. This is the reason why he attended the audio launch event and spoke at length about the film and the cast.
