Nine Films, inclusive of one dubbed film, will hit the theaters this weekend, out of which Silly Fellows is a Notable release while C/o Kancharapalem & Manu Eyes depends on Word Of Mouth. Among dubbed titles, Nun will be having a limited release as it is limited to DCI Screens.
Silly Fellows & the holdover Geetha Govindam will be fightout for the first place as the former is carrying low buzz but having a wider release and the later is still going strong. Silly Fellows is releasing in nearly 500 theatres with domestic theatrical rights valued for more than 5.50 Crores. The promos haven’t created much interested in the audience thus pushing it to depend largely on the word of mouth. It can take decent openings some centres but that will be limited to day one and wom is much needed to have a decent to good weekend. Geetha Govindam has already topped the box office three times in a row and is looking to do it again if Silly Fellows fails like how it has happened in the last weekend with @Natrtanasala.
C/o Kancharapalem & Manu are the other releases which has some awareness among the audience. Both the films are releasing in 100 odd theatres and will be relying on word of mouth to have a decent to good weekend which is usual with these sort of films. The buzz is better for COK as many celebrities have been promoting it since a very long time and also the reports from preview shows are very encouraging. Manu marks the debut directional of Phanindra Narasetty who is known for Madhuram, an independent film which was released on Youtube. Raja goutham, Son of Comedian Brahmanandam is also pinning high hopes on this. Though the film might find some audience initially like the ones who are impressed by the skills of the director, it will ultimately be depending on word of mouth to have a wider reach.
There is nothing to talk about last week releases with paper boy being the best of them which itself is going to have limited audience this weekend.
