Hyderabad: Actor turned politician and Janasena chief Pavan Kalyan is all set to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, at Vijayawada.Meeting of the two has assumed significance against the back drop of growing voices against the State government from the Rayalaseema region. According to party sources, it was BJP MLA and Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas who has arranged the meeting between Pavan Kalyan and Naidu. “The meeting between the two due since a long time, and Pavan is expected to take up the issues of land acquisition, master plan of the new proposed capital city Amaravathi, Center’s response to the State’s request for financial assistance, and the recent demands relating to Rayalaseema, and the like,” the sources added.
Earlier, a war of words broke out between Pavan Kalyan and several ruling party ministers, when the Janasena chief had taken a strong stance on the land acquisition issue in Seed Capital Area (SCA) in CRDA. The actor threatened that if the State government wishes to go ahead to forcefully acquire agriculture lands from farmers in CRDA area without their consent, he would launch a battle against the government.
This was at a time when the Government wanted to take over 2,200 acres of land located in different places in Tulluru and Mangalagiri mandals, and a few farmers has been refusing to part with the same. This issue has stood as an obstacle since then. Because, the State government has already augmented about 30,000 acres of land under Land Pooling Scheme successfully. The rest of 2,200 acres are located scattered around at various places in the middle of the already acquired land. Unless, all these lands are acquired, they would in the way of taking up proposed works in the Seed Capital Area (SCA).
However, following the strong stance taken by the Janasena chief, the State government has so far gone slow on acquiring these lands, despite a notification to that affect had already been issued two months ago, said a senior leader of TDP from Guntur.
But, now the State government wanted to speed up the process. The guidelines for the selection of a Master Developer for Amaravathi is almost ready, and the government wanted to notify inviting Global Tenders, select Master Developer through Swiss Challenge Method.
It was under these circumstances that the government wanted to go ahead with the remaining lands by the end of December, and start launching of works.“ And, it wanted to ensure that Pavan would not come in its way of land acquisition following his repeated assertions that he would wage a war against the government, if it uses force to take away lands from the reluctant farmers in the CRDA area.
Following the directions of the Chief Minister, senior officials of CRDA and Municipal Administration and Urban Development department have already prepared a report on steps taken, financial compensation given to the farmers under Land Pooling Scheme, government’s intention to take up planned development under Singapore presented Master Plan, the time frame to complete the first phase of capital construction and the like. Pavan Kalyan would be briefed on all these issues and to convince with him that land acquisition has to be done as there is the State interest involved in it. “Also, the State government has also prepared a proposal to pay higher compensation to the rest of the 2, 2000, if the farmers wish to give their lands on their own under the Land Pooling Scheme. This will be conveyed to Pavan Kalayan,” the sources said.
Also, Naidu and Pavan are also expected to discussion on the issues of several leaders from Rayalaseema trying to make an issue that the region is being neglected by the State government, and all the development and projects are again taken only to Krishna and Guntur districts, in the name of Amaravathi. Before, Pavan Kalyan is asked by these leaders to express his solidarity, the government wanted to explain the steps taken so far to develop Rayalaseem and other districts in the State. This the government is hoping would not push it another embarrassing situation of once gain the Janasena chief taking the government to task as it had happened in case of land acquisition in CRDA.
