YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy gave priority to luring potential MP candidates from the TDP. He sacrificed his own uncle and sitting MP SV Subba Reddy in Ongole Lok Sabha constituency where the YCP ticket will now be given to Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy. Magunta is one of the 4 leaders who joined the YCP today. As the nominations are beginning soon, the candidates selection in Lok Sabha seats is nearly finalized.
Kurnool sitting MP Butta Renuka also joined the YCP. Her followers say she will be given the Kurnool MP ticket under the BC quota. Renuka dropped her decision to join the Jana Sena in the last minute following lack of agreement on her contesting from the seat of her choice. She is very angry against the TDP for sidelining her after the Kotla family joined the TDP.

Similarly, YCP leaders say that Vanga Gita is being given the party ticket for Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency. There’s is political speculation that Jaganmohan Reddy came down several steps to accommodate these MP candidates despite strong opposition from within the party. Jagan is under heavy pressure to win majority MP seats so as to impress the Modi-Shah duo.
