That Varun Tej and director Harish Shankar are coming together for the Telugu remake of Jigarthanda is a known news. Titled as Valmiki, the film was launched a few weeks back and Varun will commence shooting in mid April. Reportedly, Varun will reprise the role of Bobby Simha from the original version.
According to the latest reports, the makers have roped in Tamil actor Atharvaa Murali for a prominent role in the film. It is a known fact that Siddharth played the role of an aspiring filmmaker in the Tamil. After considering several names, Harish Shankar has finalized Atharvaa for this role in the Telugu version. He is going to join the sets along with Varun Tej in April.
Jigarthanda is a gangster drama which revolves around a notorious don and a short film maker. Karthik Subbaraju directed it. The Telugu remake is being bankrolled by 14 Reels banner. Devi Sri Prasad will render the soundtrack.
