Political landscape in AP is changing so quickly and drastically. As per latest rumors in political circles, Ganta Srinivasa rao is given a bumper offer from BJP. As per that rumors, if Ganta manages to bring TDP MLAs into BJP fold and help in merging AP TDP legislature party into BJP, he will be announced as CM candidate from BJP for 2024 AP assembly elections.

TDP got a rude shock as 4 Rajya Sabha MPs, who have been given lot of prominence in the party, defected into BJP. Lok Sabha MP Kesineni Nani also seems to be in touch with BJP bigwigs, as per grapevine. Now, the latest rumor is that BJP’s next target is TDP MLAs and they want to merge TDP legislature party into BJP. TDP has 23 MLAs in assembly and if 2/3s of it i.e. 16 MLAs join into any single party, it is treated as merger rather than defection as per anti-defection law mentioned in 10th schedule of the Indian constitution. As per the rumors, the bumper offer given to Ganta is to see if he can manage to get at least 16 out of the 23 TDP MLAs into BJP. Similar job was handled by Yerrabelli Dayakar earlier in Telangana and he led T-TDP’s merger into TRS.

Avanti Srinivas, who was once close aide of Ganta, alleged couple of months back that Ganta also has CM aspirations. Ganta and Naraya duo has close family relations and the duo became very powerful in the state in last 5 years . The duo has the money and muscle power to take up such political assignments. We have to wait and see if Ganta takes up the BJP assignment and if he does so, what will be the future of TDP in the state.
