Skanda Movie Review
Skanda Movie Review
Telugu360 Rating 2.5/5
The trailer and promotional content of Skanda hint that is one more Boyapati mark action entertainer with a heavy dose of action and loudness. Ram transformed himself for the role and the film released today across the globe. Here is the review of Skanda:
Story:
Skanda is the story of a youngster who kidnaps the daughters of the Chief Ministers of Telugu states. The real reasons behind the act of Skanda form the rest of the story.
Boyapati Srinu is one director who relies on a huge dose of action and a strong emotional drama with no plot. He makes sure that his films are passable and the audience will not think about the logics. Boyapati is also strong in delivering emotional content. But his strategy went wrong with Skanda.
The basic plot is interesting to hear but the film needs to be narrated in a gripping manner with a lot of logics and emotions. As told, the emotional part is not convincing and the action is overdosed in Skanda.
Skanda comes to rescue Srikanth in the film. The suspense episodes are not thrilling and matching. The elevations are huge and the action episodes are lengthy. The interval bang is over the top and it will not appeal to everyone. Skanda escapes with the heroine when is chased by cops and a private army holding guns. He escapes from the spot without a single bullet injury.
Boyapati tried hard to narrate the story in the second half but it doesn’t look natural. The messages are quite old-fashioned. Boyapati designed a huge climax fight with a twist but the magic goes missing. Apart from this, Boyapati hinted that Skanda 2 is on the cards.
Ram has got good following in the masses but Skanda is an overdosed mass entertainer. Ram worked hard and transformed himself for the role. There are variations in the two roles he played in Skanda. Sree Leela’s role has nothing new and her performance too is pretty average. Saiee Manjrekar is good in the small role and she performed better than Sree Leela. Srikanth did his part well and he was apt for the role. Prince played the role of the lead villain. All the other actors have nothing good and the audience will forget the bunch of actors from Skanda.
Except Gandarabai, all the other songs are not melodious and good on screen. Thaman’s background score is loud and it could not elevate the film. The cinematography work is good. The editor should have chopped off the lengthy action episodes by convincing Boyapati Srinu. A large amount of the film’s budget is spent on the action stunts. Boyapati’s dialogues are pretty average. Skanda proves that Boyapati can deliver his best with Balakrishna and no other actor.
