Telangana Congress today released the party’s election poster for GHMC elections with a theme of ‘broken promises of TRS government’.
The poster, which has portraits of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi along with AICC general secretary and other stalwarts of the party from Telangana, shows TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy waving to the people at the centre.
The message it wants to convey to the people is that the TRS is a party of empty promises and talk talk. The poster shows 12 per cent reservations to Muslims as empty promise while foundation stones that have forgotten in Hyderabad, threats to the leaders of other parties as tall talk.
Talking to media after releasing the poster Uttam accused the TRS Government of attempting to hijack the entire elections for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by deleting the names of Seemandhra voters, announcing sops, amending the GHMC act to make poll schedule not convenient to opposition parties. By reducing the period of election process, they were trying to take advantage of opposition parties’ unpreparedness, the TPCC president said.
“The TRS Government has been trying hard to deny opposition parties their right to approach the GHMC voters. All set norms and guidelines to conduct the polls are being openly violated. There is no clarity on over six lakh deleted voters. The State Government is yet to publish the list of reserved wards,” he said and added that all political parties need at least 10 days time to review the list of reserved wards to file their suggestions and complaints.
