In an attempt to prepare Telugu Desam party to counter Mudragada Padmanabham’s Kapu reservation politics and YSRC role in the Tuni violence, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu today held an interactive teleconference with thousands of party workers this morning.
Naidu has almost declared propaganda war against the what he said the Kapu politics of YSR Congress in general and the opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy in a particular.
He sought to build bridges with Kapus praising it as peace-loving community which couldn’t resort to violence. Naidu targeted Jagan and asked his army of party workers to expose Jagan’s politics as the continuation of his policies against ” Amaravati ‘ and ” Pattiseema”. The members from Tuni areas are said to have informed Naid what happened on Sunday afternoon immediately after Mudragada gave a call to Rasta Roko.
He interacted with many TDP leaders and workers from Tuni where the violence broke out last Sunday during the Kapu Ikhya Garjana meeting called by Mudragada He told the party workers that the torching of Ratnanchal Express and setting two police stations on fire was the handiwork of YSR Congress party. Naidu said he informed by the Uttarandhra People about the role of the Opposition party in the violence in Tuni.
He called upon the people to impress upon the members of Kapu community that TDP was committed to do justice to the community with regard to the assurance given by the party during 2014 elections. Stating that the violence in Tuni was aimed at derailing the administration the chief minister said the opposition party was jealous of the success of the Vizag partnership summit and Davos trip. Jagan was also disappointed by the fact that the state was hosting the national games in 2019.
Talking about the GO No 30 issued during Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy time, the chief minister said it was no issued to implement the reservations. ” The GO was only a state of intension. It had nothing to do with the quota demand of the Kapu. Still no leader, who are vocal now, had raised his voice against the empty GO,” Naidu said.
The same leaders, who are now vociferous in demanding the TDP government on Kapu quta, did not utter a single word during YSR government even though he was extending reservations to some groups,” he said praising the Kapus as peace-loving people.
” The members of Kapu community have no history of violence. They can’t resort violent methods to demand justice. Definitely it (the burning of the train and police stations, was not the work of the Kapus. It must be the conspiracy of YSR Congress,” he said. He also urged the party leaders to be in touch with BC leaders to convince them that Kapu reservation would no way affect their interests.
