The Government of Telangana and the Province of Ontario (Canada) have signed an MoU on Thursday here at Hyderabad to work together to advance mutually beneficial avenues of Economic Co-operation. The MoU was signed by Aravind Kumar, Secretary, Industries of Telangana and Helen Angus, Deputy Minister, Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade of Ontario.
The Salient Features of MoU:
1. Domestic Information Seminars or Webinars: To educate domestic companies on doing business and build awareness of opportunities, in the partner market (i.e. Ontario or Telangana) and to assist companies in connecting with peers who are experienced in doing business in the partner market.
2. Trade Missions: Coordinating and leading trade missions to the partner market, with a focus on priority sectors, to help companies gain access to the partner market. The Parties will endeavor to provide in-market support to their respective trade mission delegates for the duration of travel abroad.
Speaking on the occasion K.Taraka Rama Rao said that Telangana State is a Start Up State and youngest state in India looking forward partners in development. The new Industrial Policy announced last year to attract investments had paid good dividends by attracting IT majors and MNCs such as Google, Amazon, Uber to setup their Data Centres in Hyderabad. Responding on KTR’s remarks the premier of Ontario Mrs .Kathleen Wynne said the MoU would open up opportunities to work together in areas of IT, Agriculture, Infrastructure.
