TDP is expecting a statement from the government by evening on the demands of Kapu reservation movement leader Mudragada Padmanabham. This optimism was expressed by Party MLC Boddu Bhaskar Rao, who met the fasting leader and his wife in Kirlampudi today. Bhaskar Rao is one of the leaders from TDP who are in touch with Mudragada Padmanabham. This is second round of talks between Mudragada and the government.
According to party sources, Bhaskar Rao met Mudragada at the behest of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Talking to media at outside the Kapu leader’s residence at Kirlamupudi, Rao said he had conveyed the demands of Mudragada to the chief minister.
” All the demands of the Kapu leader have been conveyed to the chief minister . We are expecting some thaw by evening. A statement either from the chief minister or from the government is likely today ,” he said.
Mudragada is now demanding the reduction of the tenure of Justice Manjunadha commission to three months from notified nine months.
Meanwhile, Mudragada’s fast entered day two on Saturday. At many places in the district and outside, members of Kapu Nau have started hunger strikes in support of Mudragada.
Mudragada also confirmed that Bhaskara Rao had come on behalf of the government. Stating that he was ready to call off his fast once he receives postive response from the chief minister, he said so far he had not received any information from the government.
Refusing to divulge the what transpired between Bhaskar Rao and him, Mudragada said the MLC assured him that he would convey the his sentiments to the CM,” Mudragada said. Mudragada House is in the full control of Police. Security personnel have not allowed visitors who want to meet the fasting leader to express their solidarity.
In the meantime, security has been beefed at the residence of deputy chief minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa in Amalapuram.
