Launching a scathing attack on chief minister Chandrababu Naidu , opposition leader in the Assemly YS Jaganmohan Reddy alleged except photographs with high-rise buildings there had been no progress in the construction of capital Amaravati city.
Participating in the motion of thanks to the address of governor, Jaganmohan Reddy said the CM could lay a single brick for the capital even though two years lapsed since he began talking of world-class capital.
Interestingly, for the first time in the past two years, the debate today was conducted meaningfully and in a peaceful atmosphere. Jagan criticism and interventions by the treasury benches did not stray into chaos. The house was in an unusual attention and speakers were attentive to each others’ points. Chief Minister was not present in the House when Jagan spoke.
” The CM wants us to derive satisfaction and pride by watching these fictitious photos with imaginary sky scrapers. Where is the capital except these pictures. The CM says China builds the capital while visiting China . He wants us to believe Malaysia build also takes part in building the capital. Day in day out he says Singapore is building the capital. Who is building the capital and where is it,” Jagan questioned. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was trying to create a myth by his claims, which were empty.
jagan listed out what he called lies- What happened to the proposal of setting up of Hero Corp in Chittoor district. Where is the Vizag railway zone. Excepting reassuring every time he visits Rayalaseeema, what is the progress in setting up of steel plant.
Despite the high decibel campaign, not a single IT company had been set up in Vizag. But Jagan’s charge had been contested by IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy who accused Jagan of ignorance. Reddy said Vizag attracted an investment of Rs 6000 crore in the past 22 months. Ridiculing the claim that he had got corporate companies signed MoUs worth Rs 4.67 lakh crore investment, Jagan cautioned Naidu these investors were signing the similar MoU in the investment summits organized other states as well.
Against objecting to Jagan’s charges, Palle said investors had high levels of confidence in chief minister Naidu and the state was hopeful grounding all the projects. Palle dared Jagan for a public debate on what was progress recorded during YSR regime and what was happening now under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu’s frequent trips to New Delhi also came in for severe criticism from the Opposition leader.
The chief minister had never talked of the unfulfilled assurances given by the centre during his visits to New Delhi. He spent more time in praising the centre rather than exerting pressure on the centre to implement the assurances given by the centre such as special status to AP, steel plant, Vizag railway zone, special grants to backward district.
Sports minister Atchannaidu took strong objection to Jagan’s attack on state government. He accused Jagan and his later father of responsible for the sorry state affairs in the state. It was Jagan’s father YS Rajasekhar Reddy destroyed the state. Then speaker allowed BJP leader Vishnukumar Raju to counter Jagan’ s criticism. BJP members said Jagan was shivering with state government getting MoUs worth 4.67 lakh crore. Whey was Jagan worried when many central ministers visited Vizag.
