The Opposition YSR Congress party served no-confidence notice on chief minister N Chandrababu’s government. YSRC Party MLAs on Thursday morning delivered the notice to the Assembly secretary. Now, the speaker has to take a decision on the notice and fix the date for putting the motion for the consideration of the House.
Talking to media after the submission of the notice, party MLA Sujaya Krishna Rangarao said the notice was served after the government led by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement the assurances the ruling party incorporated in the party manifesto. As the government failed to live up to the expectations of the people as per their own poll manifesto, the YSRCP feels it was the responsibility of the party, as the opposition party, to act as per the aspirations of the people.
The party MLAs said instead of fulfilling the promises made to the farmers, weavers, youth and women, the government had made corruption as governance. “The government has lost the confidence of the people. Every section of the society is disappointed. So, reflecting the mood of the people of Andhra Pradesh, we have served the n-confidence motion on the government,” the MLAs said.
“Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government has become a land grabber. The government is promoting all types of mafia- land, liquor and sand. Capital construction is a scam of highest order. Ministers are involved in the amoral purchase of lands from the people. We will expose every failure of the government during the debate on the no-confidence motion,” YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy said.
YSR Congress has been thinking of moving no-confidence motion against the speaker Dr Kodeal Sivaprasada Rao for suspending party MLA Roja for the year which the party said beyond the competency of Assembly speaker. Following the party charges that TDP ministers, MLAs and MPs along with party leader and CM’s son Lokesh’s large scale land purchases in capital region in the “insider trading” the dropped the idea of tabling the no-confidence motion against the speaker and chose to target the Naidu’s council of ministers.
