The result of a big ticket film can go either way. If the content clicks well, the cash registers will rang up to unprecedented numbers and bring glory to the whole team. But when it fails to match the expectations of the audience, the result will be very embarrassing for the hero who is held responsible for the film’s poor box office show. Also, the producer should bear the brunt of the distributors who incur heavy loss.
Superstar Mahesh Babu and popular producer Prasad V Potluri are now in a similar situation. Their recent family drama, Brahmotsavam, which released last week is going to end as a biggest disaster in recent times. Majority of the film’s distributors are going to suffer more than 50 percent loss. It is learnt that they have approached PVP to compensate for the heavy loss. PVP has come up with a proposal , but the distributors have not agreed to it and asked him to bear the loss.
So, both PVP and Mahesh Babu have decided to compensate some amount for the distributors. It is heard that both of them are returning 5 Crores each to make up for the film’s dismal performance at the box office. Mahesh Babu is on a holiday at present and he is likely to meet the distributors after his return. This is indeed a great move by Mahesh Babu and PVP which will bring some relief for the distributors.
