Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (TAGC) celebrated its annual Summer Picnic on June 19, 2016. More than 1200 adults and kids gathered at Busse Woods in Elk Grove to participate in the picnic.
The weather was perfect with glorious summer breeze. The event was a grand success: everyone enjoyed fun filled games and delicious on sight cooking of Dosa’s, Corn, Chicken and many more dishes. The picnic brought a Telugu festive look to the park with kids and parents dressing up in traditional Indian dresses. It was more like a family and friends get-together, everyone pitching in various activities from food preparation to organizing games.
Traditional food and Dosa’s was a big attraction of the picnic along with and BBQ Chicken. Mouthwatering dishes and with delicious food from sponsoring Priya restaurant and Marinated Chicken sponsored by Thrupthi Foods made a feast. Watermelon and buttermilk were served after the lunch.
After delicious lunch, Sujatha Katta, Uma Avadhutha and other TAGC committee members organized fun filled activities. Adults and kids alike enthusiastically participated in the games like Potato Sack, Musical chairs, Three-legged race, Lemon in spoon, and Tug-of-war.
Kids thoroughly enjoyed the picnic. They participated in games like High Striker, Tug-of-war and Many more. They had fun eating IceCream Cones which helped raising funds to help kids in both Telugu states.
Tireless efforts by volunteers were praised by attendees. TAGC President Pradeep Kandimalla thanked all the Board of Directors, sponsors, volunteers and attendees for making this event a grand success.
