Nandamuri Balakrishna has a superb success rate during Sankranthi season. Most of his films which released in January went on to become huge hits at the box office. Next January it will be more special for the star hero as his 100th film Gauthamiputra Satakarni will hit the screens as a Sankranthi treat for the audience Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film has Balakrishna playing the role of the great Satavahana ruler, Gauthamiputra.
The historical film is carrying a lot of expectations in the trade circles because Krish is well known for his flawless cinematic rhythm while handling off beat scripts. Also, Balakrishna is leaving no stone unturned to make it a memorable outing in his career. GPS is red hot in trade circles. Reportedly, distributors are coming up with fancy prices to bag the rights. It is learnt that the makers are looking for better offers in some of Balakrishna’s stronghold areas.
Already the business in some areas is done and dusted. The satellite rights have been fetched for a striking 9 Crore deal. The entire theatrical business will be closed before the completion of the shoot. Shriya Saran and Hema Malini are playing important roles in the film. Chirantan Bhatt is the music composer and First Frame Entertainment banner is bankrolling the film.
