Ram’s Hyper Overseas Collections
Ram starrer Hyper released last week amidst a lot of expectations. The box office success of Ram’s last outing, Nenu Shailaja, and the backing of 14 Reels banner generated a good buzz and helped the film to do a strong pre release business in all areas. Despite the clichéd narration and some weak moments, Hyper managed to have a decent run in the Telugu states, thanks to the strong publicity from the production house. The solo release helped the film register good collections in the first weekend in Andhra and Telangana, but the overseas run of Hyper can be termed as a damp squib.
In overseas, there were good expectations on Hyper as Ram’s Nenu Shailaja grossed close to $ 600K. The film was sold for 2 Crores ( Approx) and going by its dismal show, trade experts opine that Hyper might just recover only the expenses. After collecting $ 16K from its premiers, Hyper managed a meagre $ 25K, $ 37K and $ 19K the next three days, failing to touch the $ 100K mark. The overseas run of Hyper is all but ended. Well, this is not the first time overseas audience spurned movies that are low on the entertainment factor.
Directed by Santosh Srinivas, Hyper has Rashi Khanna as the female lead.
