Jayalalitha Health Condition
Chennai: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was on Friday allowed to see Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who is undergoing treatment in Apollo hospital, Chennai. Rahul is the first leader from the national party – the Congress to visit Amma after she was fallen ill and admitted in Apollo on Septemeber 22.
The Congress vice-president, who arrived in Chennai in a special aircraft, directly drove to the Apollo hospital in the city. Rahul Gandhi is learnt to have enquired the doctors about the health condition of Amma. However, Rahul refused to speak to media persons after coming out of the hospital. On Thursday, Jayalalithaa’s adopted son VN Sudhakaran was not allowed inside the hospital to see her.
UK doctor Richard John Beale joined the team of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, to treat J Jayalalithaa. The 68-year-old continues to be on respiratory support. The doctors of Apollo said that she is gradually improving and making progress. However, they said that the Chief Minister would require a longer stay in the hospital.
