Jayammu Nischayammu ra Review
Telugu360 Rating : 2.25/5
Story :
Sarvamangalam ( Srinivasa Reddy), an innocent superstitious man from a rural village in Karimnagar district struggles to get a job and he consults Pitaa (Jeeva), a swamiji before taking any decision. Finally he gets government clerk job and was posted to Kakinada and his confidence in Pitaa increases.
Sarvamangalam though posted in Kakinada desperately tries for transfer to his native place so that he can take care of his ill mother who is a weaver. Sarvamangalam is taken for a ride in the office and at the sametime he gets attracted to a traditional girl Rani (Poorna), a clerk in the adjacent Mee Seva office.
Sarvamangalam struggles to express his love.It all boils down to how Sarvamangalam breaks the shackles, gains in confidence rather than superstitions and deal with lurking enemies in his boss (Ravi Varma) and other competitors who are working for his down fall.
Analysis:
Jayammu Nischayammu Ra.. starts off on a impressive note with realistic approach and giving new feel to viewers with rural ambience in Telangana and coastal Andhra in Kakinada. However after the interesting first half, director Shiva Raj Kanumuri turned routine playing it safe rather then continuing from where he left.
This along with poor editing turned the film into an extremely slow one with emotions completely missing from the second half. Poor second half turned the film into a old fashioned routine one with no novel narration in how a person with low in confidence gets confidence believing in himself rather than in superstitions. Even though Praveen, Posani Krishna Murali tried to entertain with their comedy, it did not evoke much laughter.
Performances:
Srinivasa Reddy is quite a revelation as Sarvamangalam. Srinivas Reddy showed his other side in him as a actor. He showed perfect emotions in sentiment scenes in a natural manner. Everyone is aware he is Known for his impeccable comedy timing till now, but this movie is a milestone which establishes a natural actor in him.
He fits in the role of a lower middle class person and carried the film on his shoulders better than anyone else one could imagine. Srinivas Reddy came with the right kind of emotions and expressions as a caretaker of poor mother, superstitious innocent guy, as an unexpressive lover, as a low confident youth, He surprises all delivering dialogues with ease in Telangana accent , overall he deserves a special award.
Heroine Poorna too performed her role naturally and is also a good fit for the role of government employee who dreams about running business (Nursery and boutique) of her own.
Krishna Bhagavan, Posani Krishna Murali and Praveen got tailor-made roles for them
Positives:
Srinivasa Reddy’s natural performance
Comedy in bits and pieces
Naturalistic first half
Tunes of couple of songs
Negatives:
Snail pace
Lack of commercial elements
Routine second half
Verdict:
Srinivas Reddy and director Shivraj made an earnest attempt. However lengthy narration, slow pace, routine second half makes Jayammu Nischayammu Ra survival extremely doubtful. Movie lovers can wait for the DVD.
