YSR Congress Party senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy today met veteran Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham, at the latter’s residence in Kirlampudi of East Godavari district, extending support to his proposed agitation seeking Kapu reservation.
Expressing his party’s desire that the struggle should be broad-based aiming at to put an end to TDP’s rule in the state, he appealed that all sections of the society must unite and protest the anti-people policies of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
He said all those duped by Chandrababu Naidu with his false promises of welfare and development must unite and revolt against the TDP administration. It may be recalled that Mudragada Padmanabham has announced his action programme from next month demanding inclusion of the Kapu community in the BC list.
Karunakar Reddy reminded that on January 19, 2016, too, he expressed solidarity with the Kapu agitation. “However, I was labelled anti-social and a rebellion by Chandrababu and he foisted false cases against me,” he added.
Showering praise on Padmanabham for his peaceful yet forceful protest against the state government for the welfare of Kapus, he said the Kapu leader is an inspiration for all and that inspired YSRCP to declare its solidarity with him. Strongly condemning fostering false cases against agitating Kapu leaders, he accused that Chandrababu is known for false promises, back-stabbing and criminal politics. How can such a person allege that those protesting for the rights of Kapus is a criminal or anti-social, he asked?
If false cases are foisted against Mudragada and sent to jail through baseless allegations, Karunakar Reddy warned that he will not hesitate to become a camp follower of Mudragada and join his agitation for the rights of Kapus.
