Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake Rythu Bharosa Yatra in Kurnool district from January 4 to console the family members of the farmers who committed suicide due to indebtedness and to highlight the anti-people policies of the Chandrababu Naidu government.
The Yatra would go on in the district for five to six days during which he would lend a patient hearing to the grievances of the farmers besides consoling the bereaved family members of those farmers who committed suicides.
Party Farmers’ Cell president MVS Nagi Reddy said that the party has always been pro-farmer and has been raising its voice in the Assembly and outside and the State Government has been pursuing with is anti-farmer polices.
He said that the government policies have been of no use to the farmers during its three year tenure starting from going back on the waiver of farm loans, non-release of input subsidy besides taking effective steps to mitigate the severe drought conditions in parts of the state.
Nagi Reddy deplored that shifting away from reality the State has been making tall claims on the growth rate including agriculture sector only to get some publicity and political mileage. The growth rate of 14 % is ridiculous as many parts of Rayalaseema and other districts were declared as drought affected.
The statement that there has been a steep rise in agriculture allied fields has no truth as aqua and marine exports figure has been inflated while the official data shows much smaller figure which do not correspond to the claims of the Government, he added.
