Zee Telugu bags the satellite rights Mahesh Babu Murugadoss movie

While crazy combinations create a lot of buzz when they reunite, fresh pairings also generate an unprecedented hype among the audience and trade circles. The first time collaboration of Superstar Mahesh Babu and hotshot filmmaker Murugadoss is one such combination which evoked a stirring response after the project was officially announced last year. Ever since the film went on floors, there has been a lot of competition among the trade circles for distribution rights. Also, top channels have been vying for the satellite rights.

According to the latest reports, Zee Telugu has bagged the satellite rights of the film for a staggering 26 Crore. This is the highest price in Mahesh Babu’s career and also the record price for a Non-Baahubali film in Telugu. The untitled film is also red hot in overseas trade circles and the producer is quoting a stunning price for North American rights too.

A bilingual which is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the Mahesh – Murugadoss combo is also drawing the attention of Tamil distributors, who are coming up with solid offers. Made on a 100- Crore budget, the film is set for Summer release. Starring Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah in crucial roles, the film is a joint production of Tagore Madhu and NV Prasad.
