While Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been receiving big applause in the fortress of the leader of opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy, at the later’s native place Pulivendala, by releasing water from Gandikota to Pulivendula, the opposition MLA G Srikanth Reddy alleges that the Chief Minister is taking credit for the work done by the former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Accusing that staking false claims and taking credit for others’ hard work has been the habit of Chandrababu Naidu, Reddy says it was YSR, who had done all the ground work to the project. Even funds were also released by him and took the project towards completion (90 %) while Chandrababu Naidu has come at the fag- end.
In the same way, he also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has usurped TDP and Chief Minister Post from NTR and has been taking credit for all the projects YSR has conceived and taken them to near completion stage. He lamented that the Chief Minister has no love for the people of Rayalaseema, but has been talking in a demeaning manner about the people of the region, district and the area.
He said that Gandikota reservoir works were on only after YSR has taking up the issue and moved at a fast pace after he became Chief Minister. Though he had completed 90 % of the works, Srikanth Reddy deplored that the successive Congress Chief Ministers could not complete the project and Chandrababu Naidu gave the finishing touch by allotting just Rs 24 crores.
If the Chief Minister is serious about the welfare if the people of Rayalaseema, he challenged him to obtain national project status for Dummugudem-Nagarjunasagar tail pond project by make use of his influence at the Centre. He also suggests to locate High Court in Rayalaseema, which was originally accepted in Sri Bagh Pact. He asked why did they not talk of making Guntakal as a separate railway zone after it was said that Vizag is not feasible for such purpose.
