Actors who made their mark in 2017
The year 2017 will be quite special to many of Telugu Film Fans not just because it had more number of commercially successful films but for various other reasons. 2017 has showcased our dear actors transform into something quite new and also the directors became even more experimental and bold in terms of subjects chosen. Whether an established actor or a relatively new face, 2017 showed some amazing moments which are worth to be carried forward for the coming year!
Chiranjeevi in Khaidi NO 150: It was a double impact festival for Megastar fans to watch their hero return to Cinema after a long hiatus and the actor proved that he has never lost his touch! Right from the “shoe lace” tying step till the “coin fight” scene- Megastar has delivered fantastic entertainment for Sankranthi season this year.
Balakrishna in Gautamiputra Satakarni: The prestigious 100th flick of Balayya showed him in a historic role where he performed amazing stunts and delivered masterful dialogues like a cakewalk. This was a never before seen avatar and a feast for Balakrishna’s admirers.
Venkatesh in Guru: Many eyebrows were raised when Venkatesh chose Irudhi Sutru remake- which was originally adorned by Madhavan. But Venky has redefined the look by not just looking perfectly fit but also crooning a song for the film!
Prabhas in Baahubali-2: While Baahubali-1 showed Prabhas in the happy go lucky styled Shivudu, the best was in store with the second installment this year. Prabhas breathed life to the role of Amarendra Baahubali, and his chemistry with Anushka on screen is worth a thousand words!
Allu Arjun in DJ: It is not an easy task for a young hero to pull off a Brahmin clad role as it involves mastering the diction, attire and also win the hearts of mass audience. Allu Arjun pulled off all these with such perfection and ease that it amazed the crowd. He brought an immense style appeal to traditional attire like Dhoti! Not to forget his mesmerizing gold colored sneakers look for the stylish “Seeti Maar” song!
Sai Pallavi in Fidaa: This Premam fame actress ruled the roost by not her make up look but with simple style and flawless Telangana accent throughout the film. Her amazing dance moves, fantastic chemistry with Varun Tej and everything makes Fidaa a “Sai Pallavi” film out and out!
Vijay Devarakonda in Arjun Reddy: What can we say about this cult film which was taken by Vijay totally on his shoulders? Vijay has come a long way from the free spirited youth in Yevade Subrahmanyam till the rash, bashful and amazing youngster Arjun Reddy with flawless perfection! The scene where he hits Amith with such a strong force and delivering a Hindi dialogue even got him appreciation from Ram Gopal Varma!
S.J.Surya in SPYDer: It is a unique moment to see the antagonist get more attention than the hero for his peculiar characterization and S.J.Suryah was a revelation in this film. The pre-interval bang in this film along with the cruel and satisfying smile of Suryah will haunt us for years to come!
Mehreen Pirzada in Mahanubhavudu / Raja the Great: This mellowed girl next door has had a roll this year with two back to back hits and proved that a female lead can be balanced, stylish and urbane – without being overly fashionable!
Rajasekhar in PSV Garuda Vega: The yesteryear angry young man finally got the much needed break this year with this slick action thriller. Rajasekhar joins the party of yesteryear heroes who showed that “old is eternal gold!”
