After a protracted dispute over the clash of release dates, the makers of Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya( NPS) have met the producer of Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane ( BAN) halfway and sorted out the issue. It has been confirmed that BAN will release earlier on April 20th and NPS has been pushed to May 4th.
By choosing May 4th, the makers of Naa Peru Surya seem to have barked a wrong tree. Already they missed out on an ideal date April 27th. Also, the new release date is going to be a liability for the film in the overseas market.
It is known fact that Allu Arjun’s carries a moderate market in overseas. Naa Peru Surya has been getting lukewarm offers due to its genre and a debut director. This has been a cause of concern for the producer. Now, as the film is pushed to May 4th, it is most likely to face stiff competition from Hollywood biggies such as ‘Avengers’ which is scheduled for release around the same week.
Trade circles opine that it is little difficult for the film to get promising offers in overseas. Earlier it got offers in the range of 8-9 Crores. But, the producer is looking for a better deal. However with the latest developments, it looks like Naa Peru Surya makers have done more harm than benefit by opting for May 4th.
