Minister for Irrigation, Govt. of AP Devineni Uma Mahesh Rao fired on AP BJP leaders, advising them to exhibit their ingenuity at PM Modi, and not in the state. Despite the Centre not supporting the Polavaram Project, AP Govt. has completed 55.73%, he said.
“55.73% of Polavaram Project works have been completed so far. The AP Govt. is paying Rs 400 crores as interest for loans secured to complete the Polavaram Project. All the irrigation projects which have been tagged as “hopeless” by the opposition parties have won national awards.
To get the 2nd DPR sanctioned, Irrigation Dept. officials are doing rounds in Delhi. If not for CM Chandrababu Naidu who made sure the “to-be-submerged villages” are transferred to AP, the Polavaram Project wouldn’t have even moved forward”, said Uma. Taking pot shots at opposition leader, Uma said Jagan is participating in Morning & Evening walks.
It is really shocking to see how politicians claim credit, for something called as their “responsibility”. If the AP (TDP) Govt. is borrowing loans, paying interests to the tune of Rs 400 crores, and trying to complete the project, how can we laud it as the greatness of their governance? Isn’t it the failure of the AP Govt. to secure funds from the Center? In a democracy, if you are fair and transparent, the judicial system stands behind you. Whether NDA or UPA at the Centre, they still need to release the due funds, once a project is given the status as “national project”.
