Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava Review Rating

NTR starrer ‘Aravinda Sametha’ is one of the eagerly awaited films this season. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film is set against Rayalaseema backdrop with an emotional plot point. Whether the film reached the high expectations of audience or not let’s find out with our review.

Story:

Raghava Reddy (NTR) is the only son of Narapa Reddy (Nagababu) – who is the leader of a faction group, Basi Reddy (Jagapathi Babu) leads the rival group. Raghava stands up for peace in the region, without resorting to revenge he goes into hibernation for 6 months after his father’s death. In Hyderabad, Raghava is appointed to protect Aravinda (Pooja) who plans to make a documentary on rayalaseema factionism. Whether Raghava’s attempt to attain peace in the region gets fulfilled? What happens to the Basi Reddy and his family who fume to kill even Veera Raghava Reddy? How the women in the both families play a key role in ending the factionism etc questions are answered in rest of the film

Performances:

No introduction is needed to describe NTR’s performance in various roles, but here comes a challenge in the form of Raghava Reddy’s character in ‘Aravinda Sametha’. It is a faction backdrop role which demands over the top and loud action…but given the peace call he makes in the film he has to perform very subtly. Very beginning of the film, he loses his father and same sorrow has to be carried out throughout the film. Balancing these emotions is a toughest task and NTR makes it believable. He complimented Trivikram’s writing so well in the compromise scene, climax emotional scenes and pathos scenes in the first half. Veera Raghava Reddy character is easily NTR’s top 3 performances if not the top most. Pooja Hegde as Aravinda got a significant role but no much scope to demonstrate depth in her performance. However, it is Jagapathi babu who steals the show after NTR. He is so menacing as Basi Reddy and his performance in interval block is frightening. Rao ramesh as usual did a good job in a politician role. Comedian Suneel as Neelambari played a vital role, and he is back into his elements. Esha Rebba as Pooja’s younger sister, Naresh as their father played small roles. Brahmaji as Jagapathibabu gang member excelled in a bursting scene in climax. Comedian Srinivasa reddy, Naveen Chandra played other significant roles. Sitara, Devayani and Easwari Rao played female supporting roles.

Analysis:

Trivikram Srinivas who is known for class films surprises this time with his choice of subject. He wrote a factionist-based story line, but with a difference – The story of a factionist’s son who wants to bring a change in his region. Trivikram stuck to the core point throughout the film without any sub plots or deviations. It takes lot of guts to deliver a high voltage action block in very first 20 minutes, and Trivikram executed it in style. Another scene Trivikram tried very differently is the one in which NTR rescues Aravinda, her younger brother from the kidnappers with just cell-phone warning sitting infront of Rao Ramesh. Yeda poyinaado song portrays philosophical side of Trivikram. Overall, first half is decent with lighter moments at times, and has action blocks at the beginning. Second half deals with emotions and 2-3 scenes stand out quite appealingly. Trivikram has penned many touching dialogues throughout the film. Also, he wrote elevation dialogues to suit NTR’s heroic image. Coming to the songs: ‘Aravindata tana peru…’ song is just okay, ‘Reddy ikkada chudu ‘the mass song is average, it has routine NTR steps. ‘Peniviti’ song visuals fit the pathos theme well.

Music and background score by S S Thaman are very good. Editing by Naveen Nooli should have been little slick, Cinematography by P.S. Vinod is good. Ram-Laxman’s stunts appeal to masses very much.

• Lack of entertainment
• Many Conversational Scenes

Verdict:

‘Aravindha Sametha …’ belongs to NTR and Trivikram. The Actor-Director duo complemented each other well with their exceptional skills in this author backed story. Trivikram has penned some good conversations, NTR delivers them with penchant. First 25 minutes is very good, first half is above average. Second half is an emotional one, the climax stands out. On flip side, this film has less entertainment quotient. Overall, a good watch for NTR’s stellar performance and Trivikram’s brilliance in writing.
