World’s 4th largest bus manufacturer Ashok Leyland is setting up its bus manufacturing plant near to Andhra Pradesh’s new capital, Amaravati. The manufacturing plant is being set up at an estimated cost. The 75-acre plant has an annual capacity to manufacture 4800 buses.
CBN participated in the ‘Foundation-stone’ laying ceremony of the Ashok Leyland manufacturing plant. Speaking on the occasion, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu announced that, Ashok Leyland has agreed to establish its 8th manufacturing plant in India near Amaravati.
‘I am committed to transforming Andhra Pradesh into an automobile hub. The locals will be given the majority of the jobs in the manufacturing plant. The State government is closely working with Ashok Leyland in this context. The manufacturing unit will commence its operations in six months, creating employment opportunities for 2300 people.
The farmers have given their lands generously for the setting up of Ashok Leyland unit. More than 828 Companies will soon establish their units in the Mallavalli Industrial Unit, Krishna District’, said the CM.
The latest development is seen as a ‘buildup’ for the upcoming 2019 elections by the political analysts. Despite anything, it is as a good news for the (educated) unemployed youth in the region.
