Anakapalli MP Avanti Srinivas is bent upon inflicting maximum damage on the TDP. He has successfully spread rumours about more TDP MLAs and MLA candidates leaving the party to join YCP. In this list, Yelamanchili MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu’s name figured prominently. As the rumours about his changing party loyalties are spreading fast, Ramesh Babu had no option to dismiss the same as baseless.
Ramesh Babu is also the TDP Visakhapatnam district president. He said some political opponents were deliberately spreading false information about his political future. The MLA asserted he would continue with the TDP and there was no need for him to change parties in every election. The incident sent shock waves in the political circles in the district. The TDP leaders became very alert after this and they were keeping a close watch on the movements of their MLAs ever since.
Even TDP chief and CM Chandrababu Naidu sounded alert among party cadres as the opposition party is making every effort to win over TDP MLAs and leaders to its side ahead of elections. Jagan is specifically targetting the ‘Kapu’ MLAs and leaders in order to weaken TDP and Pawan Kalyan at the same time. It is seen as surprising why leaders like Avanthi shifted to YCP as the party has weakened considerably in north coastal Andhra after Jana Sena came on the scene.
