Hyderabad High Court instructed the Andhra Pradesh government to submit the details of the Ayesha Miran Murder case and the specifics of the Special Investigation Team setup on Tuesday. It may be noted that on August 2nd, High Court took a serious note of the frivolous attitude displayed by the officials in implementing the Court orders in the Vijayawada B Pharmacy student’s alleged rape and murder. Following the Court’s ire, the state government on Friday constituted a SIT to reopen the case and identify the criminals.
The government today informed the High Court that a SIT was set up to probe the case. The court postponed the next hearing to 10th August.
The deceased girl’s parents demanded CBI enquiry and said that they did not believe in SIT last week. DGP N Sambasiva Rao, said the government would consider the request of Ayesha’s parents and take a decision on handing over the case to CBI. Mahila Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari not only said that the SIT should be headed by a woman police officer but also demanded that no local police be a member of the team.
B Pharmacy student of Nimrah College in Ibrahimpatnam, Ayesha Meera (19) who hails from Tenali was a was found dead lying naked in a pool of blood in the bathroom of Sri Durga Ladies’ Hostel in Ibrahimpatnam in 2007.
Satyam Babu was convicted by the Vijayawada women’s special sessions court on September 29, 2010. After spending 8 years in jail the Hyderabad High Court acquitted Satyam Babu On March 31, 2017.
