The state government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to attract the Telugu film industry to the capital Amaravati. The government is planning to give concessions and subsidies to movies to help Tollywood move to Amaravati. CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) has prepared proposals in this regard.
Media city at Capital: The government has already held discussions with several film personalities from Bollywood and Tollywood. The government has proposed a Media city at 5,167 acres land in Anantavaram area of capital region.
Studios: Government also invited proposals for setting up a studio in 20 to 30 acres in Amaravati. Government has announced that it will give land at a nominal price of Rs 50 lakh per acre if someone comes forward to build studio. Telugu news channels starting out operations in Amravati also will get land at cheaper prices from the government.
Subsidies: Government also considering reimbursement of some of the cost of production, giving cash subsidies for the movies completely madi in AP.
Permissions: Government proposed to give all permissions through a single window for film makers.
New Comprehensive Commercial park: In the first phase, from 2017 to 2021, a comprehensive commercial park will be set up at Amaravati to attract media houses to AP. In the second stage from 2021 to 2036, International Film Festivals will be held at Amaravati .
Seems the government of Andhra Pradesh is going very strategically to attract Telugu Film and TV industries to AP.
