Gunasekhar’s most ambitious film, Rudhramadevi, which is based on the historical Kakatiya Dynasty, is releasing today worldwide amidst lot of expectations. Anushka is playing the titular role and stars like Allu Arjun and Rana essayed crucial roles in the film.

As expected, Gona Ganna Reddy character turns out to be the major talking point for the film. Allu Arjun did a nice job in this role. Although his diction and dialogues seem too hard, the character will go well with the mass audience. The dialect seems like it was forced way too hard and didn’t fit for Allu Arjun. Despite being an historical epic drama, the film lacks the required intensity and emotions to elevate the scenes. Also, a lot of time has been wasted in establishing the character of Rudhramadevi from childhood till Pattabhishekam.

Songs are well picturized and background score by Illayaraja is good. The graphics in the film have not been executed perfectly and looked amateurish. Both Rana and Prakash did complete justice to their roles, but the rest of the cast has no scope for performance.

By and far, the film will end up as a mediocre attempt by Gunasekhar. The openings will be huge due to the aggressive promotions. It will have a slightly better run in India than Overseas.
