Hyderabad: AP chief minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is in discussions with party leaders Sujana Chowdhary and Malyadri to resolve Tatikonda issue and field potential candidate for Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency.
Naidu wants Bapatla MP Sriram Malyadri to contest in Assembly elections and exploring several names for the MP seat. This assumes importance in the process of resolving issue of choosing candidate for Tatikonda Assembly in Guntur district. Naidu held discussion with former union minister Sujana Chowdhary and Bapatla MP Malyadri and has reportedly arrived to a conclusion, according to sources.
Naidu is giving utmost priority to ease out dissidence within the party over seat allocation for Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.
Tatikonda sitting MLA Sravan Kumar is facing ire of the party cadre and senior leaders. Several leaders from Tatikonda constituency had already reported to Naidu against Sravan Kumar. Naidu seems to have favoured the idea of fielding another candidate for Tatikonda SC reserved constituency and give another position to the sitting MLA, added the sources.
Bapatla MP Sriram Malyadri is non-controversial person so Naidu wants him to contest from Tatikonda. Sujana Chowdhary is a god father of Malyadri. That’s why Naidu first approached Chowdhary over the issue, said a senior TDP leader. However, Chowdhary has opined that Malyadri is an ideal candidate for MP only.
Meanwhile, Naidu is exploring several names for Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency. Former Collector Devanand name is also making rounds among the probable candidates.
