Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is said to be seen `helpless’ with regard to prevailing his power of authority in politically sensitive Narasaraopet assembly constituency of Guntur district. He is even failing to appoint party incharge here after the seat was allotted to BJP in 2014 polls, only to be defeated.
Narasaraopet’s TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao also crying foul that he is not allowed to function from here, which is part of his parliamentary constituency. Here only one person said to be enjoying all `authority’ politically or even administratively. He is AP Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao’s son Dr Sivaramakrishna.
The senior and resourceful politician Rayapati has been complaining that he was not allowed to open his MP’s office in Narasaraopet, so that to be accessible for his constituency people, as he resides in Guntur. He has been lobbying with Chief Minister to appoint his brother Dr Rayapati Srinivas as Narasaraopet incharge, with an intention of making him as party candidate by 2019 polls. But surprisingly Chief Minister is unable to take a decision.
According to TDP sources, earlier Chief Minister had cautioned against highhanded activities of Speaker’s son in Narasaraopet, which failed to show any impact. Even TDP supreme failed to act after receiving a complaint from a TDP leader of neighbouring Nalgonda district, alleging that he was prevented from execution of his railway contract in Narasaraopet area as part of Nadikudi-Srikalahastha new railway line project, due to pressures from Speaker’s son seeking alarmingly high amount of share in contract amount.
This constituency is once fortress to Sivaprasada Rao till 2004 and he had won as many as five times from here since 1983. But his continuous defeat in 2004 and 2009 polls, he was forced to migrate to Sattenapalli in 2014 for a success. This seat was spared to BJP in 2014, the TDP-BJP combine witness defeat, paving way for the success of YSRCP.
