Questioning the purpose of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s much-hyped Davos tour, the CPM pointed out that he did not get even a single concrete assurance from any company to invest in the state, except inviting the CEOs of various firms to visit the State.
Party senior leader and MLC K S Lakshmana Rao said that though a handful of companies accepted proposals of Naidu to look into investment possibilities, the same had happened during his 2016 visit to Davos also.
He deplored that despite tall claims that the State had been leading the country in ease of doing business, technology, internet of things (IoT) and other areas, Naidu could not convince international technology giants, software companies and others in setting up their units in AP.
The CPM leader accused that Chandrababu Naidu was behaving like an event manager, particularly after 2014 elections and failed to get at a single company to the State during his foreign visits.
He also alleged that Naidu visited World Economic Forum meetings during his 1995-2004 tenure too, but no visible developments had taken place. These tours will help in building Naidu’s brand image in foreign but not help the public anyway, he added.
