Amid the hectic parleys between the chief minister and fasting Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, the Kapu leader said he was ready to make amends to his demands if the government puts forth useful proposition that would be beneficial to members of Kapu Community.
Today, he had three rounds of talks with MLC Boddu Bhasakar Rao. In evening or night, deputy chief minister KE Krishna Murthy and Andhra Pradesh TDP president Kimidi Kalavenkata Rao are expected to arrive with a message from chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, Mudragada and his wife, who have been on fast since yesterday demanding inclusion of Kapus in the BC list, today refused to undergo medical tests. The fast on Saturday entered day two. ” We are keeping well . There is no need for any medical tests,” they told the government doctors who came to his residence to check up their health.
Yesterday the team of doctors checked BP,Sugar and pulse of the Kapu protagonist and his wife thrice-morning, midday and evening. Today, Mudragada refused to undergo medical check-up, the doctors said. The team of doctors left the place without conducting any test.
Outside his residence at Kirlamudi, Mudragada’s followers who reached the village in great numbers protested the restrictions on their entry into the village by the police. They demonstrated half-naked and sounded the lunch plates to express solidarity to their fasting leader.
According Kapu Nadu leaders at Kirlampudi, talks were going on between the government and Mudragada to persuade him to call off the hunger strike as the health of his wife was showing deterioration.
MLC Boddu Bhaskar Rao met the fasting Kapu leader three times. He, however denied he had met Mudragada on behalf of the chief minister. Bhaskar Rao said he was meeting him in his personal capacity. But, talking to media, Mudragada said Bhaskar Rao met him as the representative of the chief minister.
“I suggested some amendments to the contents Bhaskarao conveyed to me. He assured me that he would inform them to the chief minister,” Mudragada said.
