Dubai welcomed the first Indian passport holder with a valid American visa and granted him visa-on-arrival in the early hours of May 1, officials here said on Tuesday.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai posted on its Instagram account a picture of the Indian passenger on his arrival, Gulf News reported.
“On the first day of activating the new order to Indian passport holders with a valid American visa for six months or a Green Card, our officers welcomed the first Indian passenger on the early hours at Dubai International Airport,” the GDRFA said.
The passenger was not identified by the officials, according to the report.
Earlier in March, the UAE cabinet had approved a proposal to grant visa on arrival to the Indian passport holders who have either a valid US visa or a green card.
Reports also said that the visa would be valid for a period of 14 days, and could be extended once more for 14 more days.
