It was a flamboyant and glamorous evening in Hyderabad yesterday when the who’s who of South Indian filmdom attended the 65th Filmfare awards event.
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 dominated the winners list in several categories. While young and sensational actor Vijay Devarakonda of Arjun Reddy fame walked away with the Best Actor award, it is the bubby and effervescent Sai Pallavi who clinched the Best Actress award for her act in Fidaa.
Critically acclaimed film Guru brought laurels to Venky and his co-star Rithika Singh who won the Best Actor and Actress awards nominated by critics.
Baahubali 2 swept majority ( eight) of the awards in remaining categories. SS Rajamouli bagged the Best director award and Rana Daggubhati won the Best Supporting Role in Male category. Ramya Krishna and Keeravani also won the honours. Baahubali 2 has pipped other films to grab the Best Film award. Technical wizards Sabu Cyril and Senthil Kumar have also been awarded for their exceptional work in Baahubali 2.
Singers Hemachandra and Madhu Priya won awards for their impressive vocals to Fidaa songs.
Nayanatara and Vijay Sethupathi won the Best Actor and Actress awards in Tamil. Aramm is the Best Film and AR Rahman collected the Best music album award for Mersal.
